Our nearly 40-year history is marked by a deep commitment and tireless enthusiasm for Concrete Art. Founded in 1988 under the name “Friends of Concrete Art,” we support the Museum of Concrete Art and Design in Ingolstadt: conceptually, financially, and through a great deal of personal, dedicated volunteering.
The Friends’ Circle combines art promotion with shared art experiences. In doing so, we strengthen the museum’s role as an important cultural anchor and offer our approximately six hundred members a comprehensive program.

With the Drops project, the Friends of the MKKD are presenting the new museum and the city of Ingolstadt with a special outdoor sculpture.
The Drops are part of the plaza design for the new museum building. Designed by the Berlin-based architectural firm Jürgen Mayer H. and Partners, they consist of several sculptures—some surprisingly large—made from regional wood. The computer-generated waffle structures align with the clear formal language of Concrete Art. In the shape of drops, they playfully reference the industrial history of the former foundry site. At the same time, the use of wood underscores the project’s sustainable character.
The result is a vibrant meeting place for residents and visitors alike!
As a member of the Friends of the MKKD, you support the museum and projects like Drops while enjoying many attractive benefits.
