Camill Leberer

Camill Leberer works as a sculptor, photographer, and painter.

Using iron, paint, and glass, Leberer explores phenomena such as light and space, dynamism and stillness, as well as openness and closure at the intersection of painting and sculpture. Especially in his two-dimensional works, the separation between surface and space is dissolved, and the surface itself is perceived as spatial. Using transparent and reflective surfaces—such as glass, plastic, or metal, Leberer consistently incorporates the room into the picture plane. Further, in his sculptures, he explores space and questions its conditions for ideas, perceptions, and insights. The everyday familiarity with space is called into question, and he explores new perspectives for an unfamiliar sphere of action. Leberer is also active as a poet; his object-related texts, whether as lyrical interventions or as titles, are integral components of his body of work. Camill Leberer lives and works in Stuttgart.
